With a growing number of smartphones now coming wireless charging enabled, including the recently announced iPhone 8 & X, we have re-launched the Chargifi app to help people get power when and where they need it. See Apple's SVP Marketing, Phil Schiller talk about wireless power in public places in the video below.

A Wireless World

To get a feel for just how significant this move towards a wireless world is for consumers and how they feel it might affect their daily lives, Team Chargifi headed down to the queue at Apple's Covent Garden store to speak with Apple fans waiting to pick up their latest iPhone. 

According to those interviewed, 58% run out of battery before 5pm on a daily basis.

When it comes to the top three locations, consumers would most welcome wireless charging in restaurants/cafes (20%), airport lounges (20%) and workspaces (20%).

A quick trip to Paris...

Earlier this week, Dan joined a delegation of London's tech elite for a trip to Paris to meet with the French Prime Minister, Edouard Phillipe. The delegation was arranged by ICE and Tech City in a bid to ensure continued cooperation and the sharing of innovation between British and European technology companies. Read more here.

Following Apple and Google's recent moves to join the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), it appears Xiaomi has also joined the group, suggesting that it's upcoming phone may also feature wireless charging.Further details here.
