One of Canada’s largest sporting and concert venues, the Aviva Centre, recently deployed Chargifi’s smart wireless charging solution to enhance its fan experience for the Rogers Cup.
This was Chargifi’s first deployment in Canada and includes deploying Chargifi SmartSpots within the Rogers Fan Hub, as well as a cloud management service that helps ensure a continuous and reliable service for VIP fans who attend the Rogers Fan Hub - an innovative pop-up event space for interactive fan experiences.
This partnership adds to Chargifi’s impressive customer deployments in leading stadiums and venues around the world, including Twickenham Stadium and Royal Ascot in the UK, the iconic Camp Nou in Barcelona, and the Mercedes-Benz stadium in the US, which is home to the Atlanta Falcons.
With the proliferation of connected devices coming-to-market with wireless charging capabilities such as the latest versions of the Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google’s forthcoming Pixel 3, among others, consumer demand for this new technology is expected to nearly double by 2022 (according to research firm Market Reports World), making it an attractive opportunity for brands to test and deploy.
In addition to providing wireless power at scale, Chargifi’s cloud management platform provides a valuable tool for engaging fans. Anonymized data collected at each charging point can be used to better understand customer behavior in order to inform loyalty programs, trigger real-time offers, and identify new revenue opportunities, as examples.
