Can SmartSpots be custom branded?

Yes, we can custom brand your SmartSpot stickers to fit with the branding of your venue. Once you have decided to deploy Chargifi SmartSpots, we will issue custom-branded stickers for your deployment.

Do the SmartSpots automatically connect to the WiFi when they’re installed?

Once the SmartSpots are deployed, the units will need to be commissioned so that they connect to your local venue’s WiFi.

How do I get started with commissioning SmartSpots?

First, ensure you received an email from Chargifi confirming that you have been assigned to a job.
To set up a job in Chargifi Cloud, you’ll need Administrator or Installation Manager permission. Once you have that role assigned, you can access Chargifi Deploy.
Once you have set up your network and begun creating SmartSpots at venue level in your network, installation jobs are automatically generated for your installation companies to proceed with.
However, the actual commissioning of the SmartSpots requires the Installer app to be installed on a mobile device, either Android or iOS. Follow the instructions in the app to commission your SmartSpots.

Can I deploy Chargifi SmartSpots myself?

You can deploy a small number of SmartSpots, for example, if you contact our sales team and request an evaluation kit. However, we do recommend using a trained installer for any larger scale deployments. We can either train your chosen installers or you can use one of our certified partners.

What is the preferred installation method for the best user experience?

We recommend installing through surfaces so that the SmartSpot sits flush with the surface, covered with a sticker decal that indicates where users should place their device. The transmitter coils sit closer to the receiving device and this facilitates a consistent and strong charging experience for customers.

What are the advantages of on-surface installations?

On-surface installations do not require furniture to be retrofitted and are, therefore, the quickest and easiest installations. However, the advantage of the through-surface (sitting flush with the surface) or sub-surface (hidden below the surface) installation methods are that the SmartSpots can be customized to fit in with the design of new or existing furniture. In addition, the through- or sub-surface methods prevent theft given their secure installation.

Worried about modifying furniture only to have to potentially upgrade the hardware in future?

Whilst the technology may advance over the years, the holes that are required to be drilled into furniture are of a standard grommet size and will accommodate any changes to the actual hardware in future.

How do users know where to place their device?

With every deployment, we use a special sticker to indicate where users should place their device. This sticker is placed directly above the coils of the transmitter and helps create a seamless charging experience.
