Any object that causes unexpected losses to wireless power transfer. In general these are metal items, for example keys, coins, paper clips, metallic wrappers, etc.
We recommend tried-and-tested SmartSpots (manufactured by Belkin) which are Qi-certified and have all the required commercial certifications as well as having been tested to international safety standards.
Some wireless charging transmitters have been known to damage RFID & NFC cards/tags.
Our SmartSpots have built-in foreign object detection, so will detect the presence of NFC or RFID cards and stop charging.
We recommend making sure your wireless charging transmitters are Qi-certified and have built-in foreign object detection to avoid these issues.
Each and every charging session powered across Chargifi’s global network will be offset with a contribution to Carbon Footprint, which supports multiple projects around the world to protect our planet.
Chargifi is committed to using its platform to power positive changes in the world, including doing its part to help support the Paris Climate Accord and protect our planet from climate change.
The company will start with offsetting all charging sessions for 2018 as well as all charging sessions that have been logged across its platform since November 2015. Initially that will offset 5 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to 563 gallons of gasoline consumed or 5,470 pounds of coal burned or nearly 6 acres of U.S. forests in one year.
Ongoing, Chargifi will continue to leverage its ‘smart’ platform to monitor and calculate all charging usage across its platform globally, then offset it on an annual basis.
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. Those establishing their own take-back scheme must as a minimum offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like-for-like basis.
We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items when purchasing a new item from us. We will dispose of your old electronic equipment responsibly and for free.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the address to send your old electrical items to.
To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is marked with a crossed‐out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.
Your SmartSpots will be automatically upgraded to the latest firmware when we release updates every three to six months.
Our sales team can provide you with a demo and set you up with a small deployment before you decide whether to deploy at scale or not.
